The Aird Group has, by devotion and teamwork, developed into one of the largest multidisciplined consulting
firms in the UK - servicing all major development companies, local
government, commercial firms and architects from bases in Edinburgh,
Glasgow, Manchester and London.
The firm was founded over 20 years ago by the Chairman, who brought
substantial worldwide experience as Chief Engineer of Wimpey Plc.
The company's utmost priority, has always been, to meet
the client's needs in a professional, innovative and efficient
manner. The various companies bring in depth knowledge to assist our
clients in achieving their objectives, and meeting their needs, whilst
providing them with a cost effective high quality service which
reflects best practice and legislation. Indeed, our standards
have been incorporated into many of the leading house builders
specifications.
The
companies, although separate trading entities, are commonly linked to
assist with the crucial coordination of the various projects undertaken
by the group.
Each of our offices are fully staffed
with highly qualified and well motivated personnel who are equipped
with the latest computerised hardware, software and instrumentation,
which enables excellent communication and cross transmission of
data from office to office and from site to office.
The continued expansion of the various companies within the Group is a
direct result of both dedicated management and staff working
effectively as a team in order to meet client objectives. Indeed,
all members of staff take
personal responsibility for the full understanding of our client needs
and then meeting those needs professionally and efficiently through
teamwork.

The
Group believes that the training and development of all staff is
fundamental to product quality and therefore to client satisfaction.
Training therefore is a priority throughout the organisation.
All survey personnel are interchangeable and have
the ability to undertake field work and processing and so are trained
to undertake projects from commencement to completion.
The
Group is pro-active in CAD utilisation with each of it's offices fully
established with various common software packages including Liscad,
Autocad, SCC and Autocad Land Development Desktop.
Computers, along with HP plotters and ancillary equipment, are upgraded
every 2 to 3 years, thus keeping ahead of the latest technological
changes.
With regard to the survey teams, they operate with the
latest total station equipment and reflectorless instruments, combining
fast download with high accuracy. In addition, internal survey equipment is available for detailed
building surveys by trained staff from outline to precise elevation
detail.
Administration, purchasing and accounting functions are all in house based at our head office in Edinburgh.
Health and Safety is paramount to the Group and
extensive guidelines are contained within the Group manual.
Our procedures are under continual review and our
operational manuals updated accordingly, to ensure optimum efficiency
in all aspects of our work.
